At three years old fishing became an obsession when Dad took me cane pole fishing on the Great Lakes of Michigan. In 1969 the Military transferred our family to San Diego where I spent my free time fishing the Pacific Ocean for a wide variety of fish. That variety offered a great opportunity to practice techniques from Bass and Halibut in the the Kelp Beds to Offshore trolling for Yellowfin Tuna.

I started my first company at twenty one and retired at thirty nine, (18 years as a Commercial Contractor in California). I then moved to the Nature Coast of Florida where I began with new species and interesting waters. Quite a move from the 3,000+ feet abyss off the California Coast to the Skinniest Flats in the Gulf. Although the fish and tackle were a bit different, experience translates well. I became a full time guide in 2005 fishing Homosassa, Crystal River, and Wacasassa. Active in my community, I volunteer and co-sponsor the FWC’s Kids Fishing Clinic in Crystal River where we teach fishing tackle, techniques and marine conservation to young anglers.

Captain Ron Hipner is an Avid Fisherman with a wide range of experienced and dedicated to provide a fun and informative fishing adventure in the Gulf of Mexico. Come along with Capt. Ron and fish our beautiful waters of Florida, Our grass flats are Gin clear and surrounded by hundreds of mangrove islands, alive with Redfish, Grouper and Shark.
